An odd motor, the Standard. One of the last to be made, it occupies a half-way position between the Target - Meteor range (it uses one of their paxolin plates, their iron laminations (though 27 of them!), their armature and spacers) and the Marine - Double range (it uses their commutator, jumper links and brushes). But it also has one of its own paxolin plates, its own shaft and its own plastic bearing covers.
It was also only available with a reversing coil, but unlike the other motors it did not sport a 'Special' designation on this account, and was not named after an astronomical body or weapon. The larger motors produced by Taycol all had simple descriptive names - 'Marine', 'Double' and 'Standard'.
I believe that the Standard specifications provided on the Taycol Leaflet are confused with the Supermarine, so have taken the liberty of reversing them on this site.
At the bottom of the page you can see an example of the 'Standard' packaging - simple and functional, but hardly eye-catching...
